Amazon is offering a $10 credit to Prime subscribers for completing basic tasks, like watching shows on Amazon Prime Video, streaming music from Prime Music, borrowing e-books from Prime Reading, and making a Prime-eligible purchase.

Ahead of Prime Day, Amazon launched Prime Stampcard, an interactive program that allows new and current subscribers to collect four stamps to earn $10 off a future purchase.

How Amazon Prime Stampcard works

This game-like promotion requires Prime members to experience Prime’s four main benefits to collect the stamps: free shipping, video streaming, music streaming, and e-book borrowing.

Prime subscribers who collect all four stamps will be rewarded with $10 in-store credit. You still have until tomorrow, July 13 to earn the credits.

To participate, Prime subscribers need to click on the “Activate Stampcard” button on the Stampcard page before getting started.

Subscribers must then collect all four stamps by completing each task:

  1. Purchase a Prime-eligible item (at least $5 worth)
  2. Stream a Prime Video show
  3. Listen to a song with Prime Music
  4. Borrow an eBook on Prime Reading or Kindle Unlimited

Stamps may take up to 48 hours to show as completed after finishing a task.

Prime Stampcard technically isn’t free

Since Prime Stampcard requires buying a Prime-eligible product for at least $5, that makes the $10 credit more like a rebate.

There are a few other terms and conditions to note. Canceling your Prime subscription will void the credit if it has not already been used. Likewise, returning that Prime-eligible purchase of at least $5 will also void that $10 credit.

Quick tip: The $10 credit is only good for items sold by Amazon, not third-party sellers. Participants should read the full terms and conditions before earning stamps.

Prime Stampcard is also only available for those with a full Amazon Prime membership — not for Prime Invitee, Prime Business, Prime Video, or Prime Instant Video account holders. You also must be the main Prime member, not part of someone’s household.

Regardless, for Prime subscribers or free-trial members that already plan on making a purchase, Prime Stampcard could sweeten the best Prime Day deals.

Amazon is offering other ways to earn up to $264 in credits on Prime Day

There are a number of other ways to get credits from Amazon that aren’t related to the retailer’s Stampcard program, like getting $12.50 when you spend $50 on Amazon gift cards. Check out all the ways you can get up to $264 in credits on Amazon on Prime Day.

Amazon has officially announced the dates for the long awaited Prime Day. If this is your first time shopping the big event, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Below, we’re breaking down everything you need to know about Prime Day, how to score a $10 credit and deals you can shop right now.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Prime Day is an annual shopping event created by Amazon, and has been compared to Black Friday in July. The event began in July 2015 to coincide with Amazon’s birthday celebration and ran for one day of deals. In 2019, the event increased to a full two days and offered sales on everything from tech to fashion. During the pandemic, shoppers shifted to mostly e-commerce, drawing in a record-breaking number of sales for Prime Day 2020. Last year, Amazon increased its total sales to its highest yet — over $11 billion — with more than 250 million items sold worldwide, according to Digital Commerce 360.

Do I need to be a Prime member?

Yes. The discounts are exclusive to Amazon Prime members — if you are not already a Prime member, you can sign up for a free trial, which will allow you to shop the sales and get free shipping. A monthly membership costs $14.99 a month, but you can also purchase an annual membership for $139. Students can get a Prime membership for only $7.49 per month.

How do I claim a $10 Prime Day credit?

Now through Prime Day, Prime members can earn a $10 credit to use on Prime Day or on future Amazon purchases through the brand’s new Amazon Prime Stampcard, Amazon shared. To collect stamps, users must stream Prime Video, listen to Prime Music, borrow a Prime Reading or Kindle Unlimited book or add one to their library, and make a Prime-shipping eligible purchase.

To earn the Amazon $10 credit, members must first sign into Prime and activate their Stampcard. You can click on the stamps on the main page for easy-to-follow directions on how to collect each one, and Amazon will keep track of your progress for you. Once you earn all four, you should see your promotional credit in your account within 24 hours, according to Amazon.

How do I shop Prime Day?

The first thing you need to do is sign up for an Amazon Prime account. Once you’re all set with an account, you can download the Amazon app to create alerts and notifications on products you want to receive updates on. You’ll even receive push notifications on things that you recently searched or viewed, according to the retailer.

Best deals on Amazon ahead of Prime Day

To hold you over until Prime Day, you can still shop some amazing deals. Whether you’re looking to update your summer wardrobe, grab the latest tech or stock up on beauty must-haves, there are some great deals you can find on Amazon right now.
